Woke up this morning a discovered a swollen area on the right side of my taint. I didn’t notice it until a sat down and it felt like I was sitting on a golf ball.
Has anyone exerienced anything like this? If so, please share.
Also for back ground… I have been having a little trouble with my right side, starting with the ankles, but also the hamstring, hips, etc… Chiro says my hips were an inch higher on the right prior to adjustment. Not sure if this, combined with a early season aggressive ride and brick run might have brought this on.
Swollen prostate maybe? I’ve had a couple of instances of this, though I couldn’t feel anything externally or internally for the similiarly minded ST crowd. just burned like crazy to pee for a couple of days. I traced mine back to my old saddle (Cobb Plus), which was odd as I had ridden it three years without a problem, then out of the blue anything over an hour in the saddle and I was in for two days of misery.
Switched over to Adamo TT and it’s been all rainbows and unicorns.
Thanks for feedback. I experienced that about 10 years ago… doctor pressed on the prostate and I jumped about 10 feet. This is external… like a fatty tissue
I think there was a thread here, last year maybe, about swollen glands in that area.
This happens to me maybe once a year or so. Usually after a stretch of really hard racing. I went to the Dr once and he wasn’t alarmed unless it didn’t go away in a few weeks, which it always has.
If it’s a saddle sore there should be pain, redness, skin changes, possible discharge. This sounds like it’s probably ischial bursitis. It’s caused by microtrauma from moving across the surface of the saddle while pedalling. Considering your functional assymetry this is even more likely. It will generally be quite firm, may be erythematous and will be relatively tethered to the bone superiorly.
I had one two years ago that hung around for a couple of months as I ignored it. Treatment options are
Rest and keeping off the area.
Drop your saddle height or adjust fore/aft if you’re moving around on the saddle too much.
Chamois cream/different shorts to reduce surface friction.
See a doctor if it’s not reduced in a week or two of lighter riding.
Disclaimer: I’m not a doctor yet/ haven’t examined you/ if in doubt see a real doctor. Hope that helps.
Saw the doctor… no ingrown hairs, no lymph nodes… strongly believes that it is a soft tissue injury. Swelling is going down… We will get ultrasound if swelling not gone in 2 days.
Word for the wise… Never, ever google swollen lymph nodes between anus and testicles.
