Switching out road bike wheels to Tri bike

Hey guys, I am planning on investing in my first Tri bike this winter and will be purchasing something on the used market. The problem is I want to upgrade my road bike wheels also as I use this bike more often that I would a Tri bike. Unfortunately my budget doesn’t really allow for both new road wheels and a Tri bike with race wheels.

So I was wondering if I could use the new road wheels on a Tri bike also despite the different rear cassette sizes? It sounds like a bit of a pain in the ass to have to keep rebuilding the rear wheel to fit both an 11 and 10speed cassette but I don’t know much about bike mechanics so am wondering if this is even an option? Appreciate any feedback.
Cheers

Yes.

You can, assuming that the new wheels are 11spd. It means that every time you move them between bikes you will have to swap the cassette/spacers out. It’s a 5-10 min. job with the right tools:

-Chain Whip
-Cassette lockring tool
-Big crescent wrench
-Dead blow hammer (optional)

Great to know. Thanks!!
