Swimming Suggestions in Colorado Springs and Boulder

I am going to be in Colorado Springs and Boulder for 2 weeks in March and am looking for suggestions of places to swim—either a facility that has “lap swim” or masters is good. I’ll be on vacation so the time of day is flexible. Staying in Black Forest and Chataqua Park. Thanks in advance.

The pools at the North and South Boulder Rec centers are excellent and have good availability for laps swims, especially now
that HS swim season is over. About $6 for a day pass and easy parking. I think East or South will be about equidistant from

I was on vacation in CS last week. Check out Cheyenne Mountain High School. You can swim there from 6:00-7:15 and 11:00-1:00. It’s a pretty nice pool too. I think it’s $4.50 per visit.

By far the best place in the Springs is the Masters workouts at CC (Colorado College), but it will be a good half hour from Black Forest, depending on where you’re staying. also, workouts are 5:30-7am MWF and 6:30am on Sat. you can check it out at http://www.csstswimming.com/SubTabGeneric.jsp?team=cocsst&_stabid_=16350

I’ll second the south boulder rec center. Best pool in Boulder.

I’ll be swimming every day in march, and the workouts are written so let me know if you’d like to join.

When you’re in Black Forest, the two closest options are probably going to be the Briargate YMCA in Colorado Springs or the Castle Rock Community Rec Center. Check swimmersguide.com, which lists all the pools.

The Briargate YMCA has a very early morning master swim program and during the day the pool does not get very crowded until the afternoon when kids start getting out of school. The only problem with this pool is that its average temp is in the 80’s. You can find the swim schedule at ppymca.org
