I’m spending a week up there and was hoping to get in a couple of good workouts. Any recommendations?
i’m in seattle and don’t get to bellevue very often but i have a friend that swims at samena (www.samena.com) and they really like the pool. i think they’ve got reasonable guest passes.
seattle has quite a few options for swimming but hopefully someone else will chime in with some eastside recommendations.
we’ve had a wet, gray winter so hopefully we’ll have some nice weather when you’re here!

The City of Bellevue has a pool -= see http://www.ci.bellevue.wa.us/aquatic_center.htm for location, hours. etc. They have between 2 and 6 lanes for lap swim 8-3 daily. There is (or at least was, the last time I was there at lunch) a Masters team there at lunch with a coach, structured workouts, etc. It’s about $4.50 / day for public access. There are a few other pools (Samena swim & Tennis, Pro Club, YMCA, etc.) but I don’t think they are open to the public.

I stayed in downtown Bellevue regularly last year when I was travelling on business. There is a pool in the LA Fitness Club (25 yards). Could buy a 24 hour pass for 10 bucks I believe. Was able to get two swim sessions out of it. Pool was always empty when I would swim there.
Stay at the Bellevue Athletic Club Hotel. It’s on the list of Small Luxurious Hotel’s of the World, and has a full health club attached
2) 25 meter pools. Rooms and service are fantastic, and still less expensive than the Hyatt or Westin.

Bellevue Athletic Club is the way to go. I used to stay there often when I worked for the Redmond based evil empire. There is also a nice club that is connected to the Bellevue Hyatt. Full athletic club, with decent pool.
