Any tips for where to swim in Whistler? I won’t have a wetsuit, so not sure about open water. May need to HTFU
Check out the Meadow Park Sports Center.
Alta Lake (the swim venue for the IM and 70.3) and Lost Lake are about the only OWS venues that are not super cold glacial fed bodies of water. That stated, no way I’d swim in either without a wetsuit.
I lived in Whistler in the years before the swimming pool. All my swimming was in Alta Lake and I didn’t use a wetsuit. It can get cold but not that bad once your in for a while…
Sounds great - thanks.
Meadow park has a great pool and the lakes will be warm enough to swim in without a wetsuit very soon. Alta and lost lake are the warmest.

It’s all a matter of perspective and what you’re accustomed to for water temps. I found Alta Lake to be very cold the last time I was in it for IMC 2014… but I live in Houston, TX where our OWS venues are almost 90 degrees during the summer. 65 was no bueno for me.
Huge fan of Meadow Park swimming pool. I always swim there when visiting Whistler both in the summer and winter.
If you have kids, my son loves the kid play area as well. Useful for rainy days or when you just want a break from skiing.
Michigan is pretty comparable to what I found in Whistler. Lost Lake and Alta Lake were both decent temps without a wetsuit. Both views were incredible! Unfortunately I think I got some swimmer’s itch in Lost Lake. Not the worst I’be had, but something.
