Swimming in Parsippany, NJ

Any suggestion where to swim in Parsippany, NJ? Work may bring there for 2-3 days at a time.

Lakeland Hills YMCA is close - it is a Y obviously, and I do not know if they will let you just pop in for a swim, but it is a nice 25 yd/meter? pool…a decent weight room too…

Near Parsippany is Whippany. I swam with their masters swim group for awhile at the JCC. Don and Mel Fink run the group there. It was on Monday mornings and Thursday evenings but it looks like it is now Sunday am and Wednesday pm. You can probably buy a guest pass there.

There may be something closer to Parsippany, but this is the only place I have experience with.

Pretty sure the whippany pool is closed or is closing soon. In any event, I’m almost certain they stopped running masters over there. Don and Mel do masters at the West Orange JCC, which is even further away from parsippany.

You might want to look around in Morristown. it’s right down 287 from you. Or there’s a master’s group at Drew University in Madison.

Worse comes to worst, there is a YMCA in S(c)ummit that has 2 pools. Morristown HS used to have an awesome pool, but I don’t know if it’s open to the public.

I don’t think they allow drop ins at Drew from what I’ve heard. They used to, but now you have to sign up for the program. There is a YMCA in Madison. There should be other places to swim around Morristown too.
