Swimming in Austin (1)

I have to stay in Austin this week. Anyone know how I can swim at the Texas swim center on Friday morning? I am staying downtown Austin and would love to swim in the morning.

Thanks for the help.

That may be a hard nut to crack unless you can hook up with someone from Longhorn Aquatics. If that doesn’t workout stuff you wetsuit in a bag and swim over at Barton Springs. There is always Deep Eddy. Brrrrrrrrr

Deep Eddy is nice, but it doesn’t open until 8am I believe. Also, you don’t need a wetsuit unless you are a wuss. Stacy is free and opens at 6am, but you have to battle the old people doing the backstroke. Oh, if there is some sexy, young bald guy kicking everyone’s ass, that’s me.

Do you have a USMS card? Visit the Longhorn Aquatics website and fill out the visitor card and bring it with you in the morning. 630-8 M-F and 12-1

Google… “longhorn aquatics masters austin” it should pull up

Welcome to austin

You should be able to get a guest pass for a master’s workout. It’s usually about $5. Email the coach and she can tell you more about what to do. 6:30am as Mark said and noon I believe.

Edit: Do not park in the UT lots unless you are out by 730 or you WILL get a ticket. You can get a $2 scratch off pass from the swim center front desk. A better option is to park at the state lot at MLK/Trinity or at the meters on Trinity. I’ve had good luck at those two places.
