Swim Coach Near Chicago

Can anyone recommend someone who would take at look at my swimming form in the western suburbs of Chicago?

This weekend (10/27) there is a swim analysis clinic in Lemont

.

A bit more North than West, but you can check with Mary Bradbury. She is a USAT coach and the New Trier swim coach.

I am in the Naperville area on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Shoot me an email. Stevenbrandes@gmail.com

Brian Fitz w/ Blue Dolphins in the city, or Mary Bradbury w/ Glenbrook Masters.

X2 for Mary Bradbury… she’s an awesome person and has the pedigree to boot… including giving a certain 3x Kona winner some tips.

On November 17th the coaches of PPL (Petersen Performance Lab) will be offering a swim stroke clinic at the UIC west campus. Registration is available here:

If it were me, I’d hit up Mary as others have said.

Sue Welker - Naperville Waves.

Multiple time “swim coach of the year” in masters, Ironman herself. She gets it.

Mary got me to swim straight, which is a major accomplishment.

North instead of west, I’d recommend Craig Strong from precision multisport. I’m not associated with them, and I’m a decent swimmer to begin with and didn’t want to change anything that wasn’t broken, but he fine-tuned my technique just a bit and it helped alot.

David Fix at Endure It in Naperville. He has been involved in swimming all his life and was an all American swimmer at Arizona State University. He uses his extensive background in the sport in all aspects of swim coaching and improving swim technique. Great guy. http://www.endureitsports.com/coaching/index.php

Good luck!

I’m bumping this almost decade-old thread because I’m looking for a Chicago-area swim coach that can help me improve my technique. I’m in the city on the northside, not the burbs, but am willing to travel a bit for the right person.

Unfortunately, the Chicago Masters swim club just doesn’t work with my schedule. Chicago Blue Dolphins is close to me, but I’m not a huge fan of the Total Immersion approach that it uses.

I appreciate any recommendations.

I’ve successfully worked with a lot of athletes remotely.

I post some of the swim analysis and basic swim stroke technique on the YouTube Channel:
