Swim backpack recommendations?

Looking for a good quality swim equipment backpack to use when moving from pool to pool and carrying all my swim stuff, and often clothes too if I’m carrying such out to the pool deck. Wanting a good size durable and functional pack to replace the mesh swim bag I’m using now. Water proof base so it can sit next to the pool. Room for dry and wet clothes and all the swim equipment. A water bottle holder, cell phone. etc. Thoughts?

I recently bought at Speedo Teamster Backpack. Lots of room and it includes a wet bag. Like it a lot.

I have the 2013 version of this in solid blue; works great with room for fins, PB, paddles, etc, plus dry-land training gear. Been using it since 1 Oct 2013 on a 365 day basis and it still looks brand-new. Bought it at my local swim shop (LSS), which is run by a former UCLA swimmer/ITU racer girl, so i give her all of my swim/tri clothing business. For an additional $8, she embroidered my first name on the top so that it is easily identifiable at a swim meet or tri, which is actually not a bad idea given that there might be literally hundreds of Speedo backpacks at a big meet or tri:)

X3 on the speedo teamster bag. I just got mine few weeks ago and love it.

I love mine. Can’t beat that price either.

TYR Alliance II http://www.tyr.com/shop/tyr-alliance-team-backpack-ii.html
.

Recently picked up a speedo teamster for my kid who is in swimming too.

Fantastic, almost makes me want to get one instead of the transition bag I currently use :stuck_out_tongue:

Does it need to be a backpack? I just use a basic $30 nike duffel bag. Reasonably water resistant, 3 compartments and a small wallet / cellphone interior pocket. A lot less expensive than the backpacks too.

I have a Speedo from 2009 that is still kicking butt. Really surprised how well it’s held up to Chlorox treatments a few times a year when they get wet a lot and sit they can get funky…pretty much keep waiting for my to fall apart but it hasn’t. Not sure which one just the random Speedo off SwimOutlet was myabe 30 bucks?

Doesn’t have to be a backpack. I also used a large generic Nike duffle bag before I got my Speedo backpack and it was perfectly serviceable. But I find the design and organization of the Speedo backpack to be very well thought out for swimming specifically.

I still use my duffle bag as my transition bag for races. I could never justify the cost of a transition backpack based on the number of races I do every year. On the other hand I’m at the pool 4-5 days per week, and I like having a dedicated swim bag for that purpose.

X2 for TYR Alliance II. I’ve had mine for several years and has all the space I need, wet and dry compartments as well.

I havr the Addias Team Speed pack. Wet section is big enough to fit a wetsuit and its similar in size to the Speedo and Arena offerings. The straps are much nicer and after nearly a year its holding up well.

Mine is the Team Canada edition but they come in plain black. It seems targeted at soccer but works great as a swim bag.

And yes swim shops carry it…

Full size or the smaller one? My son loves his small one (plain black with a name patch sewn on). I have a seperate mesh bag with straps for days when I need all the toys at the pool. Still waiting for some injuries to get better before I start on fins again. Who needs fins when you can kick 100s under 1.40 …

It’s the 35L.

Got it with her name and swimteam logo on it!

He uses for swimming and polo. He has a duffel for track… first indoor meet Jan 10 here in YYC. I will probably tweet a few pics. 60m, 150m, 600m & 4x200m relay.

He wants to go to year round swimming next fall. No need to have team logos when the plan is to go from summer club to year round.

Nice.

Swim team here goes year round, but the younger kids get 2 months off in the summer.

Swimming has become her favorite sport for now, so it’s a good thing too!

I have an Arena bag which works really well and does everything you’ve outlined - except carry fins/kickboard. I still keep those in a mesh bag along with paddles etc. Nevertheless, the Arena backpack is easily the best swim bag I’ve ever had.

I’m on my 2nd one (over about 10 years, I think…) of the older Speedo swim duffle. Lots of pockets and comfortable handle and straps. Green and silver available if you don’t want pink.

The Speedo bags are used by most age groupers. Seriously, you can go to any age group swim and see 200-300 of them in piles on the deck. I’ve never heard of one failing. Kids only get new ones when they switch teams. Suits wear out and get thrown away but its the back pack parents get misty eyed about getting rid of at the end of a career . . . . .

The only down side is they are big enough for kids to stuff a dry towel in without removing yesterday’s wet one so they end up with several moldy towels inside by the end of the week. One of my daughter’s had 14 swim caps in hers when she retired. But adults should be smart enough to avoid that.

Can’t go wrong with the speedo bag. I prefer the duffel style myself, I just find it easier to find stuff in a wider / shallower bag. As long as it has 3 largish compartments (a vented one for goggles / caps / suits, a small watertight one for contacts, deodorant / shampoo, and a main compartment for kickboard / pullbouy if you need to carry those around with you, towel, flipflops, and spare goggles / caps) then I’m pretty happy.
