Swedeman Xtreme Triathlon

Haven’t seen a thread on this race yet. Was announced a few weeks ago and is a part of the growing xtri team.
The race takes place in Åre in northern Sweden with a upstream swim with underwater currents towards Swedens largest waterfall Tännforsen. Water will likely be chilly.
After that the bike portion is 205km up and down the Swedish mountains with over 2000 vertical meters. Course profile below.

I had told myself I wasn’t doing a ld race next year to focus on speed, but after this was released I can’t hold myself. There are 250 spots and registration opens Nov 1st! https://imgur.com/IFdZy5T

whoa----that’s familiar territory. and spectacular. i’ve ski toured through that neck of the woods. i think that’s easier than this upcoming xtreme race.

Truly beautiful landscape, I’ve only done downhill skiing there so this will def be a big change.

i’ve had a few visits to that area, and visited those falls in winter. stunning. i think this race is on my list now. . .

After another L in the Norseman draw I was glad to see that I secured a spot at Swedeman! Did anyone else get lucky?
The course truly looks brutal and amazing! 1000m climb in the last 5k will hurt so beautifully.

I’m all signed up and registered. This will be my first “extreme” race after a handful of 70.3 and 140.6 finishes. Hoping this is a good step onto an eventual Norseman or Swissman.

Really looking forward to a more detailed run map. The bike course looks to be relatively comfortable.

How many fellow Slowtwitchers will be joining me out there?
