I have recently changed from Polar to Suunto but am battling with the HR belt losing its connection to the watch. I have tried pairing it again and this has made no difference. I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with this and if replacing the battery (the watch is brand new but who knows how long it was in the store for?) is worthwhile or should I send it back?
I have tried the obvious things like making sure the strap and my skin is moist, tightening the strap until I can barely breath, moving it around, etc. all with no effect.
I had a smart belt from suunto that just never worked right and I had to send it back. I changed the batteries a couple of times and it would work sometimes and sometimes not.
Given that though, it seems like changing the battery is a pretty reasonable thing to try and doesn’t cost a lot.
Full Disclosure-I am sponsored by Suunto
I haven’t had any problems with the connection with my T6, but I had some problems in the past with my Polar’s. Did you have a soft WearLink Polar strap? If so, the fit of the hard Suunto strp may not suit your body type. Starps are funny things and some work on people while others don’t just from the shape of their torso. Suunto is coming out with a soft starp this year, so perhaps that would work better.
Is Suunto coming out with a REAL upgrade from the T6 any time soon? Thought you might know with the sponsorship…

That is great news and I did consider this as I had similar issues with the Polar batwing strap. Once I switched to the soft strap the problem was solved.
You would think that they would design these things for athletes? I am sure it would fit better if I put on 20 pounds but that aint gonna help me go faster unless they invent gravity triathlon.

Not that they told us at a team meeting last month. The only new itmes was the new bike pod and the soft strap.
Ok, so I was looking around on the internet and found this, looks like I am about to ‘upgrade’ to the Suunto comfort belt
