Sometime within the last week my MovesLink2 has stopped working. I have gone to the support site and found a few relevant submitting but no solutions that work as of yet.
Anyone have any insight/solutions?
I’m running Windows 8.

I’m running Windows 8.
Mine worked this morning on a Mac. Moveslink won’t run at all or it just won’t upload to their site?
MovesLink won’t run at all. There is a quick dialogue box with a status bar that says:
“MovesLink2 Has Stopped Working”
“Windows is searching for a solution to this problem”
That box literally flashes for a second or two, then nothing. I have tried the following:
-Resetting
-Un-installing and re-installing
-purging my history and cache and repeating the above
I saw one person on the support site that said it had to do with a Windows 8 update, but I haven’t been able to confirm that.
@JanneKallio on Twitter works for them. Not sure if he’s the right contact, but he could get you started figuring it out.
I am not on twitter.
Ah, then just google the name until you can find some contact info. Very unique name. He’s here on these forums, too. Can’t remember his handle, though.
Here I am, unique name guy
InWyo, Sorry to hear about the problems. When did the Windows 8 receive the lates update?
You haven’t contacted Suunto contact center? That would be good step. They would probably be able to dig deeper, potentially asking you to provide some log files from your computer. You can contact them thru mysuunto (found in movescount and in Suunto.com).

I tried to send the log files, but am not sure it worked. The screen just kinda flashed but I’m not convinced anything happened.
Had the same problem with mine. What I ended up doing was going into windows and setting up another profile/new user/whatever you call it. For some reason I have to switch users to this other profile and it works like a charm.
And yes, that was after many, many emails back and forth with Suunto.

I have been scrolling the support threads and it seems to be a pretty big problem. Every day there are more threads on it.
I have a service ticket now, and hope that helps. I’m also considering getting the Windows 8.1 release since it’s free. Maybe that will help.

I will check tommorrow from our sw team how aware they are about potential windows 8 related problem.
I’ve used Moveslink every day for the past 2 weeks and it has worked for me. So- perhaps your issue is local to your PC?
Or, perhaps when I used it, it had been ‘fixed’. But- it hasn’t been down continuously- I can verify that.
Right click and run Moveslink2 as an administrator when you go to re-install it. If it crashes after it has been installed, just try running the setup file or *.exe as an admin and it should work.
My starting screwing up and giving me the same error when I got the original moveslink to control my suunto ant+ stick. and I agree that their forums/help page generally contradict itself or isn’t much use especially when it comes to ANT vs. ANT+ stuff.
Any news?
I e-mailed support and got an automated reply that I would be contacted with in a maximum time of 72 hours…That was 8 days ago.
I discussed with sw team. They have one Windows computer now in their hands which has issue with moveslink and are looking into it.
I’ll come back to you as i get more news.
