Want to honor combat wounded Veterans this weekend? All you have to do is join Team4Mil (http://www.team4mil.org), commit to riding at least one local event (likely a Gran Fondo) with some of our wounded Veterans, and order your Team 4Mil cycling kit (the uniform order is your team dues).
You don’t need to be a Veteran. You just need to CARE and COMMIT a small amount of time to riding with some Veterans (we are establishing chapters throughout the U.S. in 2014).
How to start? Visit BikeReg and place your order. The site is live NOW.
Registration password for Team 4Mil is “Team4Mil” (case sensitive)
The first 30 registrants can use the following coupon code “Veteran” to save an additional 22% (limited to the FIRST jersey/shorts/long sleeve/socks ordered… Additional jerseys/shorts will pay full price).
If you aren’t a Veteran, we’d truly appreciate it if you’d leave the extra discount for the Veterans, but we won’t enforce it since we want to encourage Veterans and non-Veterans to integrate and ride together.
These prices are made possible by the tremendous support of our sponsors (including ASSOS) and should in now way be viewed as cutting margins of local ASSOS dealers. Rather, this is a way to create awareness which we feel matters using a vehicle (pun intended) which can reach many people.
Please realize that we are MISSION DRIVEN and don’t seek to make money off these sales. This is truly done to create visibility and awareness. Nothing more. I post to ST because it’s an arena filled with active athletes who do care about Veteran issues.

Jonathan C. Puskas
Raising funds to help wounded veterans and racing RAAM 2013 with http://team4mil.org/
“If you are gonna charge… CHARGE HARD!”
Awesome. I live in ATL and will help in whatever way I can. I have done some RAAM 200 mile rides so if your team is in need for some long rides I will be the Sherpa. It would be an honor to show them around the North Georgia mountains.
Will you be doing any RAAM Challenge events in 2014? We’ll have riders at most of them. You should just ride one with a wounded Veteran. Spending a day riding, talking, and taking small steps to a new normal…
I rode RAAM Challenge San Diego and Portland last year. Both were really enjoyable.
James,
I’ll let you know when the kits arrive next month (they were delayed until April).
Thanks for following up.
In the interim, if you are a Veteran, I’d propose you consider joining www.usmes.org. We’re doing amazing work and growing our cycling and triathlon clubs globally. This week, 50 of our members are enjoying training camp in Tucson. You can check out the photos at our Facebook page.
I’ll have an answer next week after I send items to those who have already paid and know what inventory remains and if any Veterans want it (Veteran preference).
If I do, I’ll be selling Jersey/Shorts/Gloves/Cap/Bottle combination for $300. I’ll be selling as “sets” (jersey/shorts/gloves in same size) to simplify my life, provide a good deal to interested riders, and ensure I don’t get stuck with unbalanced inventory.
Jonathan,
You are in Portland, correct? I am also in Portland and would like to get involved. Let me know how I can go about doing so. I am a veteran also, and should there be any extra kits I would be happy to buy one.
Jim,
I’m in Portland and I would love to get you involved in our programs.
We’ve recently merged Team 4Mil with US Military Endurance Sports so you can learn more about our programs at www.usmes.org
We have cycling, triathlon, and adaptive programs each operating with Elite, Development, and Club programs depending upon the needs of the member. We’re rapidly approaching 500 Veterans in the program(s) with a goal of 1,000 by the end of 2014.
