Superfeet Insoles

I went to replace my Orange Superfeet insoles today and in the past 17 months they have gone up almost $12. Granted they fit perfectly and I am on my feet most of the day when I am not running, but I wasn’t expecting the increase. Anyone have other insole options they use that are similar?

Treadsole and Currex but both are similar costs. It’s crazy how expensive insoles have gotten

Agree that these are way overpriced, but few alternatives. Business opportunity, maybe. REI sometimes has them at 20% off. Dick’s, too. I tend to buy before I need them to take advantage of a sale…

I’m curious, do people for whom Superfeet work well have arches/insteps that match the insoles, i.e. where the insole makes contact with the arch/instep area? I ask because I have super high arches/insteps, so I’ve got lots of room above even the high arch/instep version of the Superfeet, and they work well for me. But I recently got a pair of custom made insoles (free, a marathon-related promotion), and I find they don’t work for me, because there’s a ligament that flexes across the arch/instep when I run, so an insole that fits my foot perfectly when I’m standing neutrally creates uncomfortable pressure in that area if I try to run.

That’s a little off topic, but seemed close enough that I’m hopefully not violating unspoken norms around here.

superfeet yellow not best for high arches - consider currex - they make specific for arch type and leg alignment
.

For running, I like Formthotics Dual Density full length insoles. I need some arch support and a touch of stability. These have made a big difference allowing me to use a wider range of shoes.

Superfeet yellow has been my go to since discovering there was such a thing. The green ones are too wide for some of my applications (cycling shoes, hockey skates) and rub weird when I ran and always gave me blisters. Yellow was much better but it’s true, they don’t cradle me feet like my custom insoles do.

I just ordered a bunch of custom insoles to replace the superfeet and to make daily shoe wearing simpler than changing insoles around each time. I hope they feel good while running. They were shipped with too wide a cut and I literally could not get them into my shoes, so I sent them back to be retooled. Ordered the week of Thankgsiving so not a fast turn-around.

I asked the same thing to my physio, it’s totally dependant on the person as everyone’s foot is different. That said, like you I have crazy high arches and need the space for my arch to collapse (a good thing) so don’t like the custom insoles and prefer the Superfeet green.

Superfeet Run Comfort (Green)- a litle bit lower profile, but with a dual-density foam and gel heel pad, $50. A significant improvement for Superfeet for runners
