My sunglasses keep fogging up, what’s the trick? It doesn’t seem to matter which ones I’m wearing (Oakley, Briko, ect.) they all will fog up if its humid outside. I’ve tried using the anti-fog solution for swimming goggles but it does nothing.
Good question. I have never figured out how to keep glasses clean for longer than 30 minutes. My solution is to not wear glasses. The only time I put them on is on fast descents, otherwise they hang from the brake housing.
I found that if the glasses dont let any air flow across your eyes they will fog. Try setting the glasses a few mm down your nose, away from your face. It will feel strange but it worked for me when I used to live where there were seasons. Now that I live in the desert, I just use the tried and true squint.
While you have the water by your knees, put your goggles on and then dive your head. Afterwards you remove them and clean up the fog with your fingers. Then you put them on again pressing hard against your face. Don’t remove them again till the race starts. Inside your goggles may be left some water but hey… better than not seeing a thing in front of your noise!
I don’t know if this is the right procedure but it works for me!
Cycling cap or sweatband. I always wear one, even when it’s bloody hot. A cycling cap with the top cut off works best for me. Keeps the sweat from condensing on your lenses.
I have problems with my Kerosenes fogging. It is never a problem in a tri, but when I am in a mountain bike race they fog up going up hill, probably becuase I am sweating so much. Then on the descent you have foggy glasses. I take them off but then you are at the mercy of branches poking you in the eye. Maybe a sweat band is the solution ? I will try next race and report back !
I wear the Oakley Half Jackets, they do not have vents. I guess that $150 down the drain. I will try the anti-fog wipes just for yucks, will see if this helps.
To stop your glasses from fogging simply apply a small amount of shaving cream to the lenses. Rub it in good and wipe clean. Any kind of shaving cream will do. I’ve heard dish soap works as well but can’t confirm that.

Hmmmm… I wash my lenses with dish soap. I wonder if that’s why they don’t fog on me? (They still fog when I stop though!)
does the cycling cap also help keep your head cool in a helmet with fewer vents like the LG prologue? - I think its awesome looking but seems to get hot too fast - I am thinking of getting a cap (I have a headband but its microfleece to keep you warm…)
