Suggestions on Healing Blisters Quickly

Re: blisters on the feet, other than the obvious of allowing the blisters to get as much air as possible and staying off your feet as much as possible, do people have any suggestions/tricks on helping your blisters to heal more quickly?

Any treatment to do, medicine you can take or anything to apply to the blister that helps it heal?

Thanks.

Gobs and gobs of Neosporin both on top of and inside of the blister, covered with a band-aid. Always works for me.

preperation H, toughens the skin.

Try the Band-Aid blister blockers. They work great.

Duoderm or medical grade silicone scar self stick sheeting to almost completely elimate continued friction.

I add some huge blisters and read a cople of threads on here and there was everything from band aids to krazy glue.

What I did was to take the skin over the blister (if it’s a small one don’t bother) off and let it dry for about 24hrs and then I bought something called new skin. It’s a paint on cover. You put 2 coats of that on and you are good to go for a sprint tri or some training at least. After that I suggest socks for a little while.

This will sting a bit…

Get some Betadine, metholated spirit and a syringe. Wash your hands well and the area around the blister. Swab the area with Betadine and pop the blister with something sterile (tiny hole) and get the fluid out. Now for the fun part… Fill up the syringe with a mixture of 50% Betadine and 50% metho and inject it into the cavity. Once you stop crying like a baby its all good. Works well for really big blisters when you need to keep going. Please note: I’m not a doctor and I have no money (spent it all on bikes) so if your foot falls off or you end up in counselling for the pain and trauma, you were warned.

Why do people go to internet forums for medical advice…

Aquaphor works great as well as it allows the wound to “breath”. From experience(lots) it works well in crevices and creases for minimizing rashes. It doesn’t break down in the heat like neosporine or other products.
