Suggestions for roadie/training tubulars?

Yes, I only ride tubulars. As Bunnyman always says, life is too short to ride clinchers.

Been using Conti Sprinters for the last few years on my road bike with no complaints. Thinking of trying some Tufo S33 Pros.

I’m after a sporty training tire but not a full blown race day tire. The should be fast, light and tough. Any other good suggestions besides the Sprinters and S33 Pro?

Like running shoes, if you’ve got a good thing going, why mess with it? Sprinters or S33s would be my top two picks for a training tire that I might even race on.

Go with the Tufos… plus you can use the anti-puncture gook, it’s pretty effective.

Contenintal Sprinters for training; Vittoria CX for racing. I can go an entire season on Sprinters without a flat or change due to excessive wear (I have an extensive bike racing background). The only clincher I have is the Specialized Armidillo on my Computrainer wheel.

Guys, thanks for the suggestions. I thought that Conti Sprinters or Tufo S33 Pro would be the way to go.

After posting this I went on ebay and on a whim picked up a pair of Veloflex Criteriums that were considerably reduced. Hand made in Italy so decided to give them a try.

Thanks again.

I love the veloflex tires. Not as puncture resistant as the Conti which is not uncommon to ride down to the threads on a training tire, but the ride is like the old days CX/CG. Super supple casings. They are my race tire of choice. The 19mm Record model for pavement like IM Canada or Kona, the larger cross section 21mm Criterium for New Zealand. LaBicicletta.com usually has great prices. I think you’ll enjoy them.
