Suggestions for incorporating fins/paddles into swim workouts?

I just purchased my first paddles (Finis Fulcrum) and fins (blue Zoomers). Doug Stern said in previous posts these were good tools, so hey, that was good enough for me.

My swim schedule currently involves 2-3 workouts per week averaging about 3000-3500 meters per workout.

Any suggests on how to properly incorporate these new toys into my workout schedule?

Our group usually does 500 warmup, 1000 -1500 of various drills paddle & buoy, 500 of kicking drills with flippers, and 500-1000 of other stuff.
