holly crap. this is almost a first, well actually the second time someone has asked about riding in wenatchee. people don’t usually ask for rides in wenatchee. what brings you to town??
what kind of riding? if road; flats or climbs? moutain riding is some of the best in washington.
these guys can probably help with the bike: http://www.arlbergsports.com/default.aspx. they are in downtown wenatchee. if they can’t help then try the second wind, 509-884-0821. if neither of those work let me know.
I spent about 2 months there this past spring. It was freaking awesome! For shops, Arlberg is decent. There’s also a small running/shoe store right down the street that has a fair selection of stuff. For rides, drive up to Leavenworth and do the loop to Plain (can’t remember the name of the highway) and ride back down Hwy 2. You can park at the bus-stop there in town. For runs, just out of town are the Sage Hills trails which are fantastic. You can also do the run up to the overlook (sorry I can’t remember the name right now). It’s a hell of a climb, but the views are very good.
It’s worthwhile for trail runs to get one of the Wenatchee trail maps that has all the surrounding wilderness areas and trails and just go exploring into the Enchanteds, Icicle Ridge, and those areas outside of Leavenworth. Most everything was snowed in still when I was there, but should be awesome now!
