do they think the extra eye work is leading to strain and → headaches?
The extra eye work is definitely contributing to the vertigo/dizziness. As for the headaches, it’s kind of strange, no one wants to say ‘yes’. The doctor’s I’ve seen so far say ‘maybe’.
I assume because there is no method to measure the amount of strain/stress, they’re hesitant to give a decisive yes or no. I suspect the headaches will abate as the vertigo lessens (hopefully it does) with PT.
How are you doing?
Half bald, half fat, and half deaf. Not bad for 55.
Though I’m a bit worried the PT exercises have triggered an old neck injury. Could be coincidence but I’ve got a few areas on my side and back that the skin has become painful to the touch. Feels nerve related. But the possible nerve pain is tolerable compared to the vertigo.
You’re in CO, front range right? You need anything?
Yes I am, I’m good, thank you for the offer.
How are you?
Meh…no real change that I can tell. The PT had me dial back my home exercises, seems the neck/head movements reaggravated an old neck injury, or pinched a nerve so now I have neuropathic pain on my right side and on a bad day it spreads to my mid-back.
Didn’t realize I was made of glass ![]()

Getting old is not for the weak. You have to be damn tough to age gracefully.
sheesh. You had enough going on!!!
How are you?
My Dad has the same issue. No diagnosis and sudden hearing loss. A couple years later the other side was gone as well. He now has a double cochlea implant and he can manage but it is a real disability
No change. But am finding the baseline dizziness is normalizing. Still hopeful it’ll subside
Did your dad have dizziness/vertigo as well?
Yes, even now with the implants. Cortisone didnt help at all.
Thanks for the update. That’s what I’m concerned about. I can live with the hearing loss but struggle with the vertigo.
how are you?
Bit worse the last two days. Not sure why but it seems my blood pressure has spiked into hypertension stage 2 range, which causes the vertigo to increase when I walk and a nice headache to accompany the vertigo.
I actually saw my primary care last week for my annual physical. Labs all looked good. Cholesterol was ever so high but likely due to lack of activity the last couple months. Nothing stood out as the cause of the headaches or increased blood pressure, so it’s a chicken or the egg situation. Do the headaches cause increased BP or is increased BP causing the headaches? So I’m on a trial period of a BP medication.
No change to my hearing.
worse →
no bueno
I hope the BP meds help the headaches.
how are you feeling?
