Stryd: Garmin (connectIQ) vs Suunto (native), any difference?

I am considering a Stryd footpod as I get back in to running, and would need a watch for it. I have a basic garmin watch (Forerunner 20 I think) that doesn’t do ConnectIQ.

I am wondering if there is good reason to go with Suunto that has native power vs Garmin using ConnectIQ?

I am interested in seeing power data as I run, getting pace from the pod while using GPS for mapping (“Full Compatibility” per Stryd), running on Zwift, and then pulling data into Strava and TrainingPeaks, and maybe down to WKO5 and XERT.

Thanks!

If the power data are natively integrated into the Suunto platform, and the Suunto platform has a good presentation and analysis, that could be a lean toward Suunto.

The power data is an add-on in the Garmin data stream, so it does not show up on overall averages and in the splits. To see that level, you have to go into the Stryd web app. It is not a huge deal, but I wish the data presentation was more integrated with the overall Garmin Connect UI.

As far as the field on the watch, Garmin is good. I would not change that.

Thanks, this is the sort of thing I was looking for. That would be nice to see.
