Strides - how fast

When running strides after a med distance run, how fast should I run them. Example workout: 7 miles @ ~8:00 pace followed by 10x100 strides

I build up over 50 to 100 yards from easy pace to tempo pace to almost a sprint , so that the last 10 steps are a controlled sprint … then jog 20-30 sec. rest and do it again.

Strides should be pretty short and not too stressful.

Strides are for getting your legs faster and not really getting your HR up as they are too short. Really sprinting for a full 50 to 100 yards could get you hurt.

That’s my interpretation anyway.
