Strassburg Sock pinching toes (Plantar Fascitis)

I’m dealing with my second round of plantar fascitis. The first time I had it in conjunction with post-tibial tendonitis that caused my whole foot to hurt from the ankle down meaning I couldn’t really tell I had the PF. This time just the PF.
That said, I’ve been trying to use the Strassburg Sock. It seems to help if I can leave it on all night but it actually pinches my toes and makes them hurt so bad I can’t sleep. I’ve been wearing a running sock underneath the Strassburg Sock to try to help which it does a little but inevitably I have to take the whole thing off sometime during the night to be able to sleep. Anyone have this problem?

Oh . . and yes . . I’m taking all the other known measures for the PF (PT exercises, foam rolling & stretching of calf, golf ball, etc.).

Bird and Cronin night splint. Amazon - $20 or so. No more toe pinching. For some people, harder to sleep in and you have to be careful not to get the velcro too tight, but I think this is an improvement over Strassburg sock.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was thinking of trying one of the splints or braces. The sock is comfortable when I first put it on and I do fall asleep easily with it but once it start pinching my toes . . ouch. The only solution is to take it off.

I hated the sock also, as it did the same thing to me. Hurt worse than the PF. I went on E-bay and bought a splint to use at night and although a pia, it was much more comfortable, and did the job. Good luck.

You can put a shoe insole insert in the sock and it helps.

I still switched to a night splint though.

I use this one. Less cumbersome than others

Hmmm. That’s worth trying. Good idea.

Similar to you and a few others on here, couldn’t make it through the night with the sock and switched to a night splint with better success.
