I “accidentally” bought a chariot cx1 at an REI garage sale the other day. I went for something else and it was just too cheap to pass up. Anyway, now I have a storage issue. I need to hang it from the wall in order to fit in the garage. Is anybody out there hanging a chariot stroller? I’m having a couple issues: for one it doesn’t like to stay in its collapsed state. Also the main axel is located so centrally that it gets really tipped over when I try to hang it on the wall. I need a better idea.
I just hook the handle over peg board hooks. How flat do you need it to be?
The Chariot strollers are the BEST!
You either need a bigger garage, fewer bikes or to stop hoarding. Ours (CX-1) folds pretty flat and I turn it on its side and slide it into a slot between the fridge and the dryer. The wheels take about 5 seconds to remove. Are you taking them off too? Makes the profile a lot slimmer when you do.
I have a Chariot Cougar double-stroller (their largest model), and I used to lean it against the wall in the garage. It always got in the way and the sharp edges kept chipping at the garage drywall. So eventually I just hung it from a bike hook mounted to the ceiling (http://www.amazon.com/TEKTON-7646-Bike-Hook-2-pc/dp/B0037UPC3K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1421446228&sr=8-2&keywords=tekton+hook). The trailer isn’t that heavy so it’s fairly easy to lift it up and hang it by the padded handle.
Hang vertically from the handle, and take the back two wheels off. Now it will hang (mostly) collapsed, and there’s room for the wheels in the stroller.
This worked. I wasn’t sure how it would hold hanging from the handlebars at first, but it seems pretty sturdy. I took the wheels off and it is hanging with the bottom facing out. It is hanging pretty close to the wall this way. Thanks for the idea.
Glad it worked out for you :).
