Do you prefer them completely porridge-like or with a little bit of tooth? I prefer the latter, so it’s just a matter of throwing all the dry ingredients in the night before (oats, raisins, almonds, pumpkin pie spice + extra cinnamon, salt, brown sugar, and a splash of vanilla) and then filling the pan with whole milk to just past the point where all the dry ingredients get covered. Bring to a boil-ish, stir frequently, cook for about 5 minutes and let sit in the pan until it’s the right temperature to actually eat.
It sounds involved, but I walk to/from the kitchen to take care of the rest of my morning routine while this is all going on…doesn’t really take much more time than pouring a bowl of cereal.
If you like it as total mush, I’m useless. I enjoy the texture.
