Stave off dehydration:help

With all of this talk on Lance’s dehydration issues and his body weight loss, how do you prevent it from happening? I seem to suffer from fluid loss on all of my long, hard workouts. For examples, I rencently put in an 82 mile ride and 22 minute run. I did the ride in just under four hours and took in six full size water bottles along the way. I also took in two Hammer Gel flasks over the ride, and an average of two Hammer Gel salt tablets per hour. In the end I didn’t feel a bonk coming on, I was just down from a pre-ride weight of 189 to a post-ride weight of 179. The weather was great for riding, overcast and not too hot.

If you have any advice on how to keep more fluids in my body, please let me know. I don’t know if I can take in much more water. I do know that this much water/fluid loss is hurting my performance.
