Does anybody have any stationary swim workouts or can direct me to a website where they may exist? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Two things that I do.
#1: Timed swims. 5-30 minutes. choose your evil.
#2: Regular sets but I just call 15 strokes a length. Nice round # so you end up just counting a lot.
I use both for each workout. Normally I do about 15 minutes of warm up/cool down and them bust into a set of about 1500 (900 strokes) I almost always do some sort of kick focus set in there. I like kicking when stationary swimming.
I should back up and say that I am using a big rubber band and am strapped to the side. I’ve only swam in a stationary pool once. I’ll bet you are swimming in an endless pool or something and will totally ignore me. Thats ok, I think I’m blacklisted anyway.
Endless pool? Hardly. It is just me, the condo pool and the StretchCordz.
Thanks for the info. Someone told me to count strokes. I thought they were kidding. Guess not.
StretchCordz are the best man! I lone the way it makes you have to balance better. Focus on the kick and bi-lat breathing and in no time you will have WAY better balance and DPS. See the thread about swimming thinking.
I dont have to use it as I have access to many pools for free but I still do it once a week. I use it a TON when coaching newbe swimmers.
