Stages power meter isn't working/transmitting

Has anyone had an issue with their Stages Power Meter not transmitting?

I first noticed the problem when trying to use it with TrainerRoad last week. I thought my battery must have expired, so I replaced it and it worked again. Now, 3 days later, it isn’t working anymore. It won’t connect to TrainerRoad, won’t pair with my 910XT, and won’t pair with the Stages app. This leads me to believe it is a problem with the transmitter.

Any suggestions? The website was absolutely useless. I posted on their Facebook wall, but figured I might have better luck with the ST crowd.

My wife had hers stop, so we changed the battery. Been ok but she does get the odd drop here and there.

The battery cover ‘prongs’ have also snapped off. I asked customer service for a replacement but got no answer.

I called them and they sent me one in the mail right away.

Might have to try that tomorrow… I’m afraid I will get a “ship it to us and you will get a new one in 6-8 weeks” type response.

When I called I got the feeling that this was not the first time they had ever heard of it. They were very happy to help me.

I’ll second their customer service. Call them and they’ll make it right.

There are several reports of stages and 910’s not working well together. Can you pair another computer to confirm that it is indeed the PM?

Battery life issues seem to be rearing up here and there. :-/

Same thing happened to me - thought it was a battery issue, replaced it, problem came back. They shipped me a replacement unit right away. No issues with the new one!

It’s the 910. I could not get the 910 to pick up the signal from the Stages. Works fine with the 510 or 500.

Did you update the firmware on the 910 before the issues?

Yes and yes and yes. Nothing worked. I have a 510 anyway so it doesn’t matter much.

Sounds like they might want to start shipping two units to each buyer so they can send back the one that doesn’t work…

Contact Garmin about the pairing problem. They should be able to send you a file to go back a version on your 910xt. At least they will know there is an issue they need to look into for the next firmware.

I get it that since the 510 is working its no big deal, except if your doing a race, it would be nice to have all the race data in one file from the 910.
