Hey all, I’ve already filed a ticket with Stages, but hoping to get this squared away before I ride tomorrow if possible and I doubt they’ll respond that quickly. I figure the Slowtwitch braintrust might have some suggestions.
My Stages Gen 2 power meter stopped working this week. It has been fine all season, then just wouldn’t pair with my Garmin. I followed these steps from the Stages website to troubleshoot:
- Change battery (tried steps 2-4 with two separate batteries)
- Hard reset by keeping battery out for 30sec and shorting it between metal tab and center contact
- Reset bluetooth on phone
- Attempt to pair with Stages app (rotate the crank arm while trying, so power meter is awake)
- Phone app can’t discover power meter
I don’t know my firmware version number.
While messing with it, I noticed that the little metal tab (lower right in pic) that I assume is supposed to contact the + side of the battery is bent pretty far towards the middle so I suspect it is contacting the - side instead. Is this tab supposed to be further out towards the edge of the battery chamber? So more flush with the side?
Anyone notice anything “off” in this pic, or have other suggestions to troubleshoot?
