I can search the web, but the truth is always here!
My 9 yr old, like his mom, is flat-footed. We run w/him every so often. Think it’s worth getting him stability running shoes?
Thank you for your thoughts & stay safe.

He’d be better served running barefoot than in a stability trainer. Kids are innately good runners until we otherwise jack up their form via things like footwear and wildly unqualified HS coaches
Also recognize barefoot isn’t possible everywhere but I’m serious
Most running shoes are fine for kids at his age and provide him with enough stability, I’d go with a good brand though (ascics, new balance are good). Barefoot is good too, and will help build up his feet muscles to help support his low arch. However, I’d still have him run mostly in shoes, one session or so a week barefoot on grass would be fine.
Thank you for your inputs. I still weight train barefoot so I agree.
