We all realize that PR man Paul Thomas is not greasing the Souza PR machine, but this is too big of a story to sit behind the scenes until Avia-Niishiki boy Souza takes to the start line of RAAM now equiped with his Kuota/Cliff Bar.
So who is close enough to him (physically and personally) to volunteer to keep us up to date.
Kenny if you are reading, just post a few lines on how things are going. Your long time fans are living this one vicariously through your journey. Good luck.
When I talked to Kenny at the April 22 race ( At this point I was still his official RAAM sponsor) He mentioned he would be riding Felt Bikes not Kuota. That day he was on a Quintana Roo ( he said it was the only bike he had ). Great attitude and very appreciative of our support. Seemed like a few days later I got my check…and cashed it. But I turned right around and sponsored a co-worker doing the Aids ride.
I am doing well. I just got back from the Davis Double century and yes it’s a ride not a race I learned that today. I had a fun time, lots of climbing and I did it on a tandem with a co-worker Paul McKenzie we went 9:20 or so for 200 miles. Tomorrow I am going to support my son Dalton in the Encinitas Duathlon and he will be riding my RAAM TT bike since we ride the same size bike. I am ready for RAAM…! Thanks for all your support.
I just got a call yesterday from an old friend from school who I haven’t heard from in forever. Yes, she was recruiting help for Kenny’s support crew for RAAM. So, my boss and vacation status willing, I’ll be joining them for the trip across the country in a few weeks.
If Kenny is ok with it, and we have some form of computer/ internet access along the way I’ll try to post daily summaries and stories.
Until then…
