Sram tt brake levers with wireless blips

After maybe ~175,000 miles on Shimano I have my first wireless TT setup in a Speed Concept. Had I known there weren’t shifter buttons in the brake levers I would not have put myself in this situation. Shame on me! I have seen the solution from Leap but oudside sticking wireless blips to the sides/top of the brake levers does anyone have any ither creative solution to mount wireless blips to Srams TT brakes? Thanks!

Yup. It is better since they released the wireless blips, but it is still a clumsy integration. I much prefer Di2 on a TT bike for the natural button integration.

I had Shimano on my old IA and currently have the leap comp on my speed concept. I absolutely love them! If youre using the wireless blips, the cost for the leap comp are fully worth it!

I agree with you, if Sram would finally come up with a TT lever that has an integrated shifter (like the road brake/shifters do) it would be a much better, and cleaner solution. I would jump on that in an instant!

Since then, we have to live with sticking the wireless blips to the side of the brake lever. IMO not a big deal, and still favorable over having to route wires through the base bar like you have to with DI2.
Just use some 3m body moulding tape, cut to size and stick them blips on there. They actually sit pretty perfect.

If you want it cleaner looking, get some replacement blip button covers from Leap Components:

The integrated solution Leap offers looks nice, but the install is very involved, as you’d have to disconnect both hydraulic lines to get the grips on. Is it worth the trouble? Not in my book. They also put the shift button in a weird spot. Pretty awkward to reach.

I went with the integrated component from leap. Honestly install was really not that hard. If you know how to bleed your own brake lines its now problem. If you dont, you should, and nows the time to learn

I am looking at a similar situation with my TT build (Cube Aerium). The grips from Leap do not fit in my case, as the base bar is elliptic and not round. So, using 3m tape will probably be the best solution after modifying the knob on the blip.

I’ve had Shimano and SRAM. The buttons on Shimano brakes were better and more ergonomic, but the bar end shifters are a peice of shit. I had issues with the buttons breaking and their clamping mechanism was crap!! It was enough of a pain that I switched.

SRAM with leap is a good option. Only complaint with the wireless blips is they are a little big and can be tricky to find a good place to put them. I ended up adhering to he side of lever body like the pictures above, but I’ve accidentally bumped the shift while reaching down to the base bar. It’s easy to miss shift with the leap button covers on.

I might flip the blips around so that shifting would require me to move my thumb more towards the end of the brake lever body.

Otherwise I like the SRAM better.
