SRAM S975 Quarq Non-Drive Arm and BB fit question

I just swapped from a SRAM Force crankset to a S975 Quarq. I used the same GXP Bottom Bracket, but the non-drive side arms are different. My Force crankset is ‘flat’ where the non-drive side crank arm seats against the BB cup. When installed, the arm sits nice and flush against the BB. This is not my bike, but it looks like the picture below when installed:

The S975 non-drive arm has a beveled section that extends outward from the arm. This section sort of keeps the arm from sitting flush against the BB. When installed you can still see the beveled section. The arm doesnt sit flush against the BB like my other crankset does. Again, not my bike, but for illustration purposes, it looks like this:

My question is: Is this normal? It seems that the arm still sits in the same position relative to the frame, it just looks funny/wrong to me. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, it’s normal…

x2. Totally normal.

Thanks! It feels totally normal, I rode 2+ hours on it yesterday and it felt fine. It just looked funny/different to me. I appreciate you guys’ input.
