SRAM Red Jockey Wheel Replacement

Going over my bike today I noticed the stock jockey wheels on my rear-d both have noticeable cracks in them. They don’t seem to be hindering operation, but I’m not willing to chance it. Anyone replace the jockey wheels on their Red Derailleur? Should I go with another stock set or are one of the many aftermarket sets good enough/better?

It’s an unbelievably simple task to replace them. Get stock. You’d be hard pressed to find something as good, and it’s unlikely that there is actually anything better.

I had a pair of hawk racing ones that I used for a few thousand miles but I agree that you should just replace with stock.

Yeah, after a quick look-see I can tell it will be a pretty simple swap out for a new set. My only concern is since the first set of stockies cracked, what’s to stop another set from cracking? I see some of the aftermarket jockey’s out there made of alu and not plastic like the stock ones, any thoughts on that?

It seems like the red ceramic pulleys crack pretty easily compared to stock sram pulleys. Id just go w/ the stock as I’ve never had a problem w/ them.

I found cheapest place is artscyclery, you can pick up the ceramic pulley set for $90 or regular for $23.
