SRAM Red Etap AXS rear derailleur question

Is the standard SRAM Red Etap AXS rear derailleur compatible with a 10-36 cassette?

Can’t find what my rear derailleur is compatible with.
I find info that there is also a long cage which is compatible with 10-36 but I don’t know if I have this kind of cage.

I have bought a new standard Cube Aerium SLT C68 high.

Anyone can give me a bit of help on how to get smarter on this topic ?

It is as long as the cassette has an XD Drive Body. If you go any bigger (say to a 42 tooth on the top end), the standard RD length is too short - you’ll need a longer cage.

I have an XDR body.
And I have now an 10-26 cassette (12-speed).

And I like to know if I can place a 10-36 cassette (12-speed).

How do I know if I have a 10-36 compatible rear-derailler. Cause there are 2 types of rear-derailleurs.
One with max 10-33, and one newer model which can have 10-36 cassettes.

I had the same issue. Did a 5-day race last year on a 10-33 (same AXS Red but 11-sp). Wanted more range so switched out to a 10-36. Wanted even more range and tried to swap a 10-42 in but it wouldn’t work due to RD length.

I’ve not researched a longer RD to make it happen but figure it exists since I have a dinner plate on my MTB and run 11-sp AXS Red on it as well.

I have this type of rear-derailer: RD-RED-E-D1

Does this go with 10-36 ?

It should. That’s a pretty standard build on Red Etap AXS. The problem with Red is that you can’t get a ‘long’ derailleur

Yes you can.

Only problem is I don’t know if I got one or not.

I have taken picture of mine in attachement

If it came stock with the 10-26 cassette it’s probably not compatible with the 10-36. The only way I know to tell the RED AXS rear derailleurs apart is with a label next to the mounting bolt. Unbolt the rear derailleur and look for this.

According to an article from 3T’s blog, Yes IT IS. you can fit 36cog to your standard one but it requires 33t cassette during fine tuning.

That’s not a long RD. It says it’s a “mid” and if you look at the spec, it says it fits a 10-36 (at most).

I found a place to enter the serial number of my cage. There it says it has 33T. So I gonna go for 10-33.

Thx everybody for helping me out!

There is not much margin, but I am able to use Force AXS 10-36 on my standard AXS Red RD (33T)
.

Resurfacing this old thread, same question. But I know there’s some new parts out now.

Can a sram axs red (not the just released generation. So, pre 2024) RD rated for 33t max actually work with a 10-36 out back?
