Has anyone used both the SRAM CX-1 chainring and the Wolf tooth and can offer a comparison? I’ve got a SRAM on my cross bike but I think I want to change the number of teeth (42 to either 40 or 38). The SRAM works well, but just looking for opinions on the WT. The price is more or less the same.
Also, WT offers a ring for cannondale cranks that eliminates the spider, in a direct mount fashion. Anyone use one of these?
Thanks in advance
I’ve used both, they both worked well enough that I didn’t notice a difference. If I remember right, SRAM may have been slightly more quiet.
Direct mount is cool. Maybe lighter. Maybe more flexy. Definitely cool.
can you use a SRAM Eagle chainring? I know they make a 38t. Although, probably not if going onto a Cannondale crank (I think they’re all direct mount)
Both work great. Well enough that I don’t plan on buying a front derailleur ever again.
SRAM sent some spacers with their ring, and matches the SRAM crank better. I think the Wolf Tooth rings look better on an Ultegra crank.
No experience with direct-mount.
Thanks for the input…looks like it’s whichever one looks better.
