Sram Cassette with Ultegra drivetrain

Will the Sram PG1070 cassette work with Ultegra front/rear and chain?

Yes, it will.

No problems. The spacing is the same.

I have a SRAM cassette on one of my wheelsets for Ultegra 'cross bike. It sounds a little different than the Ultegra one on the main wheelset, but shifts just fine.

I ran a SRAM cassette for awhile on my roadie w/ a DA chain and ultegra RD, and it shifted well enough, but didn’t seem quite as smooth & quiet as my other DA cassette (different gearing) so I eventually replaced it with a second Shimano cassette.

Yes, as long as you aren’t using a Shimano wheelset. The sram cassettes don’t fit on those hubs.

???

my old sram fit fine on my shimano hub

it sounded like crap, like it wasn’t fully shifted even though it was, but it worked fine

My 11-23 SRAM shifts better on a DA RD than my 12-25 or 11-28 Ultegra.

Even my Campy cassettes work with the DA and vice versa (All cassettes shift smooth on my Chorus DA, much easier to maintain) It’s all about finding the right adjustment.

Maybe it’s just with Shimano complete wheelsets. The rear hub on my Dura Ace wheel will not fit a Sram. It is a WH-7801 I believe.

The Shimano wheelsets have aluminum freehubs with taller splines and accept only 10-spd Shimano cassettes. Shimano hubs sold separately have steel freehubs with small splines and accept 8/9/10-spd Shimano or SRAM cassettes.

I’ve got a Sram 1070 on a set of DA C24 wheels (& Force RD, Ultegra chain). Works fine.

ah yes, the 10 speed specific hubs, never had one of those so I blanked out on it
