SRAM AXS RED TT brake levers problem

Hello everyone. i just went out for my first ride on my new Cervelo P5 with SRAM AXS RED and i realized that the brake levers are too short for my fingers! i was really scared during my ride because i had to stretch my fingers to reach the levers while before I had longer levers coming much more below my hand palm
Shimano Di2 levers are much longer but incompatible with AXS Red due to hydraulic brakes system.

do you know any other manufacturer who makes compatible and longer brake levers for SRAM AXS?

the reference is here at this link

I don’t know of any, sorry.

There are no other triathlon brake levers that are compatible with those brakes, sorry.

Other than expense, there’s no reason you couldn’t put Shimano brakes/levers on that bike, you just wouldn’t be able to use the DI2 buttons (without modifying the circuitry in the lever). ETAP shift buttons aren’t built in to the brake lever bodies, so there would be no loss of functionality if you swapped out brakes.

You may also want to look into the possibility of cutting down the bars to lower the reach. It’s less that the SRAM levers are short (although they are), it’s more that the mechanism adds a lot of reach to the levers.

i thought about cutting the bars but then there is a “step” onto the sram part which is not good to have in your hand

i read somewhere today that there is incompatibility of the liquid of shimano and sram brakes
.

There is zero compatibility between Shimano and SRAM brake mechanisms.

This does not mean you cannot use Shimano brakes with an otherwise SRAM Tri bike groupset, it just means you must use both the Shimano brake levers and brake calipers.

What does “too short” for your fingers mean? Is it that levers are too short to grab them with 3~4 fingers but only 2 fingers? If that’s the case, you do not need to worry about it. Hydraulic brake is strong enough for you to controll your bike only with 2 fingers (index and middle one) if it is properly bleeded.
The design using 2 fingers only is also good for stability in bike controll while descending. Let the 2 fingers do the pulling job and other 3 do firmling grabbing the pusuit bar.

If it is the case that pulling levers only with 2 finger does not provide enough braking power, go visit any mechanic who got experieced in Sram Avid bleeding procedure. That will solve your problem.
