SRAM 12 speed cassette on XDR hub

Hopefully this isn’t a stupid questions. Because of a lack of cassette availability, I’m trying to swap my 12 speed SRAM Force cassette from my training wheel to my race wheel. I took the cassette off and see that the XDR hub on my training wheel has the one irregular groove to line up the cassette. That is the same on my race wheel XDR hub. However, the SRAM Force 12 speed cassette that came off of my training wheel does not have an irregular groove in it.

If I spin the cassette on the hub, it seems each position slots in. However, I can’t hand tighten the cassette in any of the positions - I need to use a wrench and it does tighten but I don’t want to force things. When I look at the SRAM video on installation, they don’t say anything about aligning the grooves.

Am I missing something or is it safe to tighten with a wrench in any of the positions?

TIA!

not sure what’s happening here but any sram 12-speed cassette will fit on an xdr drive body with a spacer necessary depending on the cassette.

I just got it working. No spacer needed. The key question was whether it matter where you slotted the cassette on to the hub and the answer is that is doesn’t matter. Thanks for your input!
