Spreadsheet Training Log

Anyone care to share a home brewed training log in spreadsheet form?

I’ve been working on one to use with google drive and I’m curious what others are using. Drive seems good for me as I can access it with my laptop, phone, and tablet. That means I’ll be more likely to use it.

In 25 years of training I have never logged my workouts and I’m trying to make a change this season.

I use a “spreadsheet” in a notebook (I just use a book to make columns), and each note book page is a week of training. I summarize (hours/miles/kj/TSS) at the bottom of each week’s page.

You could use similar columns in electronic format:
Date / day of week / duration
TSS
KJ
Watts average for entire workout
Watts average for first 30 minutes (I usually don’t start intervals until after 30 minute mark)
Work (intervals or main portion of workout- description and watts)
Between (duration and intensity of rest intervals- ex: “10min @ 200w between”)
Felt? (how I felt during workout, 1-5)

I only ride, so you could modify for multisport. I also keep all my files on Poweragent, but I like having a paper record. Pretty cool to see the notebooks stack up over the years. I’ve got them from the late 90’s when I was a junior.

Posted this at the beginning of the year, but will make another one when the year runs out.

This is mine. Fairly basic in terms of the data kept but it also allows you to create a plan based on the Triathlete’s Training Bible which is handy if you DIY. It should be pretty self-explanatory but I’m happy to answer questions if anyone has them. The chart Y-axis looks a little bit funky until you add some data. Anyone is welcome to copy and modify as per their needs. I am pretty sure that I’m not violating any IP rights or copyright…

If you are pretty good with excel, you might be able to revive the old Trigeek Spreadsheet. The training log part was pretty nice. Some of the other stuff was bunk. I know because I did the other stuff ; ). It worked great in an older version of excel. However, when opening in a newer version, the macros don’t seem to work. Let me know if you want it. I’ll send it to ya.
