Spinergy Rev-X Model years

Wondering if anyone has a handle on how to tell the year of rev-x wheels by looking at them. Maybe there is a website that explains this…but if not, how do you tell?

Some have just white lettering, some have yellow bars on the spokes, some have rivets at the spokes, some have little blue decals at the bottom of the spokes…etc…can anyone tell age by these differences?

Thanks

I have a pair from 94 and the only difference I’ve noticed between models are the hubs. Maybe a knowledgeable roadie mech at the LBS would know.

I know the 2001 super stiff’s have a slightly deeper carbon rim and white decals. I actually prefer using it with my disc over my H3.

i had some older ones, no idea on the year… and they had all white decal lettering…SPINERGY on the rim only

from memory I think the newer ones had coloured decals and also the decals that you mention at the base or rim edge of the spokes…

i think generally the older ones with white letters were more likely to have the x-beam? stiffeners between the spokes…mine had them on the rear wheel

i thought they all had rivets at the spoke rim joint, mine certainly did

…hopefully that helps a bit

I know Spinergy came out with 3 flavors of the Rev-x. They had different colored decals. The yellow = X-Light, blue = standard, and red = X-Stiff. But if your looking on E-Bay most of those people buy the latest stickers to make them look good and get top dollar. Someone else may chime in on this, I’m not sure if the first number in the serial number will tell you anything, I’ve seen number starting w/ 1xxxxxxx, 2xxxx, 3xxxxx, not sure if that is a rev number of not.
