As ridden by Serguei Gonchar in the TT. Pretty fast, too.

Nope, others will tell you the name but it is a solid Carbon rim made by a German Company i believe.

“solid Carbon rim”
Really? I wonder how they make that Al braking surface out of carbon fibre?
Ned
He’s been riding that front wheel for YEARS…
I thought it was well known that Gonchar used a Rev-X as often as he could.
Maybe I’m mistaken but you can see the split spokes that a Rev-X has
Do you have any pictures of the rim you are talking about? I’m allways looking for something new.
Thanks

Not a chance. That’s a Rev-X, for sure.
He is probably confusing them with the wheel Ullrich was using last year (still is?).

A better picture from Graham Watson. Most definitely a Rev-X.

I was trying to be nice
Some people accused me of being too harsh in the Tufo testing threads.

Looks like a Rev-X to me too. But I thought they were banned from professional racing. Years back one Rev-x rider went down in a large group crash and the spinning blade amost severed another rider’s leg at the knee?? Tensioned and quite thin, they are like razor blades.

Maybe they are banned from mass start races. This was a TT, after all.

1.3.018 applies to mass start road and cyclocross. They made it apply to track, then realized that the Mavic Io’s that we see on everyone’s bike would potentially be banned, and almost everyone uses disk wheels in mass start track at UCI event’s, too, and changed their mind.
He won a Giro TT last year on that wheel.
