Spinergy FCC

Hi all. I’m new to the forums and I’ve been reading a lot of good opinions. I’d like some opinions on the new Spinergy FCC’s.

I’m in the market for a set of aero rims. My local bike shop let me try some Spinergy Stealth PBO’s and I liked them. I’ve been reading on the 'net that Spinergy hasn’t had the best reputation for customer service, but that seems to be changing of late. I’ve also been looking at Zipp 404’s.

I started biking almost three years ago, and I’m developing a training schedule now to race in my first triathlon, so I’d like a nice pair of aero rims. I can get each of the Zipp’s or Spinergy’s for about the same price, so cost is not the deciding factor. The Spinergy’s are a bit lighter, which may help around where I live (Eastern PA, nice hills). The Zipp’s have obviously got the reputation for producing excellent products. The 404’s have a deeper, 58mm rim, as opposed to the 45mm found on the Spinergy’s. And ceramic bearings are an option on the Zipps. Some of this minutia may not matter though- I’m certainly not a professional rider, and may not benefit from a watt or two savings here or there.

Thanks for reading…
