Much has been written and spoken about over the last 12 months with upstart 70.3 & Ironman Florida Champion Lionel Sanders. Sanders spent the winter of 2014 in Tucson Arizona and made huge improvements using this epic city as his base. Lionel will be working with myself (Barrie Shepley) on an age group, bigger volume week of base training Mar 1st to 7th. There is room for 14 athletes for the limited one week fantasy age group camp. Participants will receive the following:
- Daily swimming in the outdoor heated 50m pool in Oro Valley (North Tucson)
- Accommodations in new 2-3 bedroom condos with fully kitchen, TV, cable, internet & washer-dryer
- Epic Mt Lemmon 26 mile ride afternoon
- Daily volume run, swims and bikes in the incredible Tucson, Oro Valley areas
- Evening socials and suppers with Lionel Sanders & other top coaches & athletes
Take the week to build your own base with other motivated age group athlete who are motivated for a 25-30+ hour week training camp with 2014’s biggest rising star. Lionel is an incredibly unique young man who I know you will enjoy thoroughly. If you and a training pal or two are interested in getting away from the cold, training with a dynamic, interesting rising star and meeting Barrie Shepley in person, send an email for more camp details to barrie@personalbest.ca

EPIC.
Can we get Epic coffee with Coach Barrie and Lionel Sanders?
More than a coffee. The week is set up to swim-bike-run-massage and then evenings to socialize either around the condo pool or out for supper. Tucson & Oro Valley is an incredible location for anyone sick of cold, wanting to triathlon train & most importantly wanting to get to really meet & get to know Lionel Sanders a bit better.
Can I bribe Lionel with Whoppers and poutine to pay for my expenses to get there?
Classic. You are going to see the even more improved Lionel Sanders in 2015 as enhancing his nutritional plan is the next addition to his plan for improving his performance this year. You can buy me a Burger and I will take $20.00 off your week’s membership.

I didn’t mean it as a bad thing
Big fan of Lionel, I can’t wait to see how 2015 goes for him.
Aren’t coaches subject to the no fast food rules as well?
Smart fast coaches are. I’m not fast, but looking to enhance my own nutritional status in 2015, so I may need to forego to Burger as well!
I"m assuming this is free?
You know what the say about ASSUMING?
No, this is a legitimate one week, fully supported, training camp with daily outdoor coached swims, new condos to live in, van support on rides (including Mt Lemmon), etc.
I will pass off the Free Burger from another ST reader who was going to pay for his camp fees in burgers! If you have never been to Tucson in the winter, you won’t be disappointed.
