Apparently no women were riding the P4 today so it can’t win a race…
(TT Worlds Spoiler in this post!!!)
You could put Spartacus on a kid’s tricycle with no front wheel and he would still win worlds.
I never said which race this was at, maybe it was just a local tri in my backyard
.
X2 Mdot…sigh…
no, no, no. I did see some P4’s on the video so I know that they were being ridden, does anyone know or care what was the highest placing P4, or Scott, or any of the other so called superbikes were, it would be very interesting to see the breakdown. Who has some extra time on their hands to come up with the list?
I still say, the P4 really looks slick when it is moving…

In order of finish:
Shiv
Shiv
Scott
Pinarello
Scott
Trek (new)
Giant
Trek (TTX)
P4
Scott.
Bob, thank you for pulling this list together, not that it really means to much, but it is still interesting to see the variety of bikes in the top 10. It would be really nice to know when the new Trek and Scott might be ready for the general public to purchace, like the P4 already is.
It was easy … just look at the Graham Watson photo gallery on the VeloNews website. They have the photos of the top ten riders in order.
I don’t know my Scott bikes very well. Don’t know if they were all newer stuff or if there were any older models in there. Regardless, I’m impressed by their showing. But as you say, none of it means much. Cancellara would have won on a Huffy.

At last check, the three best racers stood on the podium … not their bikes. Until long course bike splits are contested down to a matter of seconds, I’m going to put my money on the best rider(s), regardless of their bike selection.
So your saying its not the bike its the engine?
So your saying its not the bike its the engine?
I’m merely suggesting that is the case … for to say it would be in direct violation of the ST code of ethics. Namely section 3.4 paragraph B, which states “Any member whose bike is (a) newer by date of manufacture, (b) more expensive by total retail price, or (c) endorsed by a more successful/popular professional triathlete at the time of said challenge is, without question, assumed to be a faster and more proficient cyclist, and shall be granted all associated bragging rights and freedom from scrutiny.”

Shameful trolling for maple leaf bicycles. Shameful!
What I want to know is, what where the dudes from St. Kitts and Nevis riding (who where 20:00+ off the pace)? Those bikes must REALLY suck:)

yep, and fabian has once again proved that aero weenie bikes like the specialized shiv are the best!
I’m sure it has been the case that the best racer has missed the podium due to their bike, for one reason or another, many times.
So you are correct, the bike is never on the podium, sometimes the best racer isn’t either. =)

Zabriskie pulled out of the worlds because he didn’t have a P4 or Shiv. Nuff said.
