Specialized shiv and shimano direct mount brakes

HI …

Does any know if the shiv front or rear breaks are compatible with any of the shimano direct mount brakes??

cheers…

thx

Pretty sure that they are totally different.

Unfortunately not. I asked shimano about it when dura ace 9000 direct mount brakes came out. I hated the stock shiv brakes and fortunately was able to get magura hydros on there and i absolutely love it. Just took an adapter for each brake. Made by magura! Available thru a specialized dealer.

my dilemna exactly… . so the best solution is to get those maguras?

maguras or omegas

In my view, the omegas are the better choice for the shiv. They work well and mount properly. The maguras need a large and awkward conversion mounting plate, which is a far less sleek solution.

I love my maguras. Set it and forget it. No cable stretch. To swap wheels you just have to adjust a small 3mm screw to your preference. The brake performance is amazing. Ill give up a little bit of aero sleekness for performance and ease of use.

Edit to add: you can also get a set of the cervelo p56 plastic front brake covers from a cervelo dealer to aero-ize the front brake a bit
