Specialized s works TT helmet- visor or glasses?

Oceanside is in a week. Which is better it is it negligible?

Mark Cote was on the fat black podcast. He said that the helmet was designed to be as aero with the visor as with glasses.

From my testing it was very close.

Funny I was just going to post same question!

I’ve tried both methods and found my head gets much more hot with the visor than with glasses. I can’t possibly believe they are the same aero.

I think it’s faster with visor.

Rode with it for the first time this morning (glasses) in the high 60s and it was pretty warm (I run hot anyway). I am considering Cozumel this year so would probably need something vented

Good timing, I’ve been wondering the same thing for Galveston in a couple weeks. The damn thing doesn’t vent worth a doo-doo, not sure how it is without visor, would imagine better.

Which did you go with?

I just picked up the Sworks TT and am facing the same decision for IMTX.

I was told by Jim M at ERO same as above, that the helmet tests basically the same with and without. I went with glasses at Oceanside, also went with glasses at a 40K TT last weekend. THat said, I have no idea which is faster. I was within a minute of my Oceanside bike PR, and did OK in the TT, but have never actually ridden with the visor. Can’t imagine there’d be a substantial difference over an IM distance… sorry I mean 94

It already gets hot (to me) as there is no venting, and if the above poster is right that it’s hotter with a visor, at TX I’d imagine you would want to at least try to get some air through the front. It was OK at Oceanside as it wasn’t hot, mid 60s to low 70s maybe. I was sweating a ton at the TT though, and even that was cool temps but it was all out

I am planning on Cozumel IM later this year and am questioning whether I’ll even wear it there or get an Evade or similar.

Good deal. I’m leaning toward glasses, just so I can get some venting. I’m replacing a 6yr old Lazer Tardiz, which was pretty well vented.

Good luck at Cozumel. I wore my TT helmet there, but there are some strong crosswinds to deal with. An aero road helmet like the evade might be something to consider.
