Curious if anyone else has had trouble with the power cranks from Specialized. My tried and true SRM finally went (not the SRM, the SRAM crank it was on) so I ventured into the dual-sided land of powermeters with something that would natively fit on my Tarmac. Whew man this was a bad purchase. I noticed that after a month of riding when I went to clean it, the drive side pod was coming off. I let it be to monitor it while I researched warranty options (I don’t live near a Specialized store) and took it with me on a business trip. When I got to my hotel and went to assemble the bike, it had came completely off just dangling in the drive train attached by only the strain gauge. Luckily I was near a store at this point and they generously warrantied the whole thing. When I got it back 2 weeks later, I went for one ride with no issue and by the time I returned home from the business trip, it was half way on again. When I disassembled everything to take a closer look, a faint thug pulled the whole thing off with little resistance. At this point I can only JB Weld it back on and put Specialized on blast because this is an absolute joke. Seriously, a $1K+ power meter that is attached with adhesive?? I haven’t heard any other similar stories, but this was too quick in succession for there not to be another one.
