This is the pressure-sensitive mat that you stand on to determine the correct BG footbed for you particular arch profile.
Has anyone had this done? If so, did you end up going with the recommended footbed, and are you happy with them?
Thanks.

Noone’s used this?
I had it done in a recent fit, but already had Superfeet in my tri shoes and didn’t feel like I was missing anything in my Sidi road shoes so didn’t really pay too much attention to it. I always show up with flat-flat feet on those things but my actual run/ride pressures end up different since I’m in motion vs. standing still and my biomechanics are a little wonky.
Are they 2D or 3D?
Because if you stand on them and you have high arches, how do you know how high your arches are?
I used it and have moved the insoles between three different pairs of shoes because I liked them so much (S-Works road, Trivent, and Sidi Genius 6.6). I got the footbed that the mat said to get. I have fairly flat feet, so I need a footbed to get any shoes to fit tight enough for my liking.
It’s 2D. Not the most technical system, but better than nothing (maybe). Here’s a quick preview…
The frustrating part is that the stock BG insoles that come in Specialized shoes is equivalent to the Red+ (flat foot) insole, and they do not let you exchange them for the proper insoles at point of purchase. So, unless you have flat feet and need the Red+ insoles, you’re stuck paying another $50 on top of the price of the new shoes you just purchased to get the correct insoles. As much as Specialized pushes their BG Fit products, you’d think they’d either come standard with the Blue++ insoles (if you look at the link above, these insoles cover the spectrum), let you exchange them at purchase, or supply the shoes w/o insoles so you could be fit at time of purchase.
Fortunately, we have a Specialized pro that’s also a very experienced fitter in our community that feels the same way. Maybe he’ll be able to show them the light.
