My father bought me “becoming an ironman”…I thought it was an awful waste of paper esp. for hardback. At least from an experienced ironman racers point of view…anyone beg to differ?
Gee, I kind of liked it. Admittedly, it isn;t anything new or earthshaking, but I think it is a good book to thumb through occasionally- good bathroom book. It is also a nice book to give to non-triathletes friends to provided some insight into the mindset of a broad cross-section of triathletes.
“Iron Will” by Mike Plant is very good though.
I liked it a lot. But then perhaps I’m biased since I know the author/editor and a number of the people in there.

A few of the stories were ok, but for the most part I agree, not the best piece of literature. On the other hand, I don’t think it was meant to be great literature. I wish there were more books about triathletes and their training. I don’t why but I lve to read about Lance suffering on a training ride and the training elites put themselves through to achieve their goals. I guess it’s inspiring or something.
